About Gefen Diving
Our Mission
At Gefen Diving, our program is designed to connect participants with the natural world, promote sustainability, and foster environmental stewardship. We aim to cultivate a deep sense of caring and social responsibility. By engaging in activities in the open environment, we empower students to express themselves and develop their unique potential. We highlight and nurture abilities and traits that may not always be evident in their daily lives, while also creating diversity within the existing social structure.

Our program is designed to bring participants closer to the world of nature, sustainability, and environmental conservation, fostering genuine care and social involvement. Simultaneously, it allows outdoor activities to drive self-expression and development in each student, enhancing and highlighting abilities and traits that may not necessarily be expressed in everyday life, creating diversity in the existing social structure.
Emphasis is placed on:
- Developing skills in cooperation, teamwork, friendship, and togetherness, along with thinking abilities, problem-solving, coping with difficulties and successes, self-development, self-confidence, and leadership skills. All of this will be achieved by creating an encounter between the participants and the underwater world and desert spaces through the diving course, field trips in the desert, and open and shared dialogue.
Program Structure
The "Seedzert" program is very flexible and versatile in how its content can be delivered. We present one option in the attached syllabus with a total of 120 activity hours.
The option we have chosen to present is divided into 30 sessions of 4 hours each.
The only fixed template is the number of diving and theory hours in the diving course, to which we are committed as a diving club for the purpose of certifying the trainees.
What's in the Program?
- Diving Course: At the end of the training, participants will receive an international diving license according to the certification level that will be determined.
- Diving Sessions: A detailed diving course is divided into sessions, including diving sessions and lectures, all of which together make up a diving course at the level of Star 1 / Star 1+2.
- Desert Sessions: The desert sessions will include various content: guided field trips in the Eilat Mountains and the Southern Arava region - interactive and active instruction. Learning field skills and practicing them.
What's in the Program?
Above all, values, practical content, and activities serve as a tool for creating value-based discourse and driving action on the topics discussed, developing leadership, social skills, coping with various situations, improving self-confidence, and more.
The content of the sessions varies between sea sessions and desert sessions. The sea sessions will combine teaching methods such as lectures, usually on the theoretical topics of diving and the coral reef reserve in the Gulf of Eilat, along with practical and experiential diving sessions that include preliminary briefings, assembling specialized equipment, and diving. The desert sessions will take place in the open area of the Eilat Mountains and the Southern Arava Desert, learning and will mainly include interactive learning, instructions during a hike from within the area itself, through our senses, led by the tour guides.

Target Audience
The program can be adapted for a class of outstanding students/medical students by incorporating advanced and in-depth content in worlds such as marine biology, geology, botany, etc., and even integrating research on a selected topic based on repeated observations, guidance, and learning. At the same time, the program can be adapted to classes such as "Ometz/Mabar" and base the program on more practical, competitive, and creative content. A trip according to the target date for departure on a trip during the year, we will plan several preliminary desert sessions, in which we will learn and practice field skills in the desert areas. On the trip itself, we can create a competition in the style of "The Amazing Race/Treasure Hunt" when the tasks. Based on the field skills that were previously learned and now come to expression, we can create preliminary learning, anticipation of the competition (with a prize/bonus for the winners), another attraction, knowledge and skills that have already been learned in the past and now can be repeated and used - and not learning from scratch. On the trip,
Concentrated Days
Oceans Day: During the year, it is possible to set "peak days" on known dates on the subject, such as Earth Day, and the like. The goal is to internalize and create a connection through interactive activity. Social networks to integrate the content of the program into the discourse between the students and share it with the help of social networks.
To combine the final project with TikTok challenges. To expose the community to the topics discussed through social networks and to motivate action with their help. To make topics such as sustainability, conservation and care for nature, affinity for the environment in which we live, trendy and talked about.
It is important to emphasize: One of our most important goals is to create a connection, build care, and lead to actions between the students and the environment in which they live. To get to know the desert areas that they see every day in their landscape, to travel in them. To be exposed to the underwater world that is right under their noses every time they sit by the sea. To travel, dive, snorkel, and visit the very special nature that is in the city where they grow up.
All matters related to the dives themselves will be done at the "Deep Sea" diving club located on Almog Beach. The location of the activity, lectures, and theory can be carried out in the classroom of the diving club on Almog Beach or in a dedicated classroom at the school. Desert trips and field activities will be carried out in the Eilat Mountains and the Southern Arava in accordance with the content of the activity. Enrichment content - according to the location of the activity. For example: a tour of the Underwater Observatory, peak days in a dedicated location at the school.
