Completion Course for 1-Star and 2-Star Diver Certification: From Gadna-Diving Participants to Certified Divers
If you have experienced the intense Gadna-Diving program and feel the call of the sea, you have come to the right place. We invite you to complete your training and become a certified 1-Star and 2-Star diver through a focused, professional, and enjoyable program. At our Eilat-based dive center, we launch these completion courses every Tuesday—available for advance booking via our website—helping you bridge the gap and begin diving independently.
Our program is designed to provide you with more than just a coveted certification; it equips you with the confidence and experience needed to safely enjoy the underwater world. We combine high-quality instruction with Eilat’s most stunning dive sites, utilizing modern equipment and adhering to rigorous international standards.
What Our Completion Package Includes
As part of the course, every participant receives comprehensive coverage, including full insurance for the duration of the training, international certification through the leading dive organization SDI, and a digital diver certification card accessible at any time. To ensure your safety, we provide a personal dive computer for your use throughout the entire training period. Furthermore, we believe that the best way to improve your diving skills is simply to dive. Therefore, every course graduate receives 3 days of diving from us as a gift (a total of 9 additional dives), including full equipment, with no time limit on when they can be used. This is our way of ensuring that you can continue to practice and develop as divers even after completing your official certification.
Course Schedule and Structure: Wednesday through Saturday
The program is designed progressively, allowing you to fill any gaps from your *Gadna* (pre-military/youth training) program and advance directly toward your second-star certification:
Tuesday through Thursday: Completion of the First Star. During these days, we will conduct 6 deep dives (down to 18 meters), covering all the skills required for full First Star certification. Thursday afternoon and Friday: Beginning the "Second Star" (Advanced) course. On Thursday, we will conduct the first dive of the program, followed by three additional dives on Friday that cover a variety of fascinating topics. Saturday: Completion of the training. On this day, we will complete the final two dives, earning you the long-awaited "Second Star" certification. Those who observe the Sabbath may complete the Saturday dives on the following Sunday, by prior arrangement.
SDI "Second Star" Course: A Taste of the World of Specialties
The SDI "Second Star" (Advanced) diving course is specifically designed to provide entry-level divers with experience across a diverse range of diving disciplines. Over the course of three days (Thursday through Saturday), you will be introduced to the world of diving specialties, gaining exposure to areas such as deep diving, marine life, underwater navigation, and buoyancy control.
We place special emphasis on buoyancy control; a dedicated dive focuses on techniques to improve your balance and control in the water—skills that directly enhance both your safety and your overall enjoyment of the dive. The course provides an overview of five selected specialties, with one dive in each area required for certification. Throughout the program, we will explore spectacular dive sites—from shipwrecks to vibrant coral reefs—and include a unique night dive that will further enrich your knowledge and experience. From the Depths.
Frequently Asked Questions About Completing a Scuba Diving Course
Question: Do I need to do a refresher dive before starting the completion phase? Answer: If 6 months have passed since your initial training (Gadna), you will need one. A refresher dive can be scheduled for the Thursday before the start of the "Second Star" (Advanced) phase, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident in the water.
Question: Is it possible to complete only the "First Star" (Open Water) level without continuing to the second? Answer: Absolutely. You can attend on Wednesday and Thursday to complete the skills required for the "First Star" level only. However, most trainees prefer to make the most of their time in Eilat by continuing directly to the "Second Star" level, thereby expanding their certification and gaining more experience.
Question: Is the certification I receive valid for diving abroad? Answer: Yes. SDI certifications are prestigious, internationally recognized credentials accepted by dive centers worldwide. Upon completing the course, you can present your digital certification at any diving destination of your choice and head into the water with confidence.
